A Week of Celebration and Togetherness August 29, 2025 Week 5 was a truly memorable one, marked by examinations, festivities, and moments of heartfelt joy that brought the entire school community closer. Monday & Tuesday – Examinations with Dedication The week opened with the Onam examinations, conducted in a calm and orderly manner. Fourth week (18/08/2025 - 22/08/2025)

My fourth week at St. Augustine High School, Mararikulam, was a little different as it was the time of the Onam examinations for the students. Since exams were going on, we did not have regular teaching sessions and were also not given any exam duty. This gave us an opportunity to quietly observe the examination process and understand how the school organizes and manages assessments. Even though there were no classes to handle, the week was still a useful learning experience as I could see the importance of discipline, time management, and systematic conduct of exams in a school setting.

My third week at St. Augustine High School, Mararikulam, was both meaningful and memorable. I continued handling English classes in Standard IX, teaching further portions of the lesson The Toilet from the unit Winds of Change. The students responded positively to the questions, though I had to manage some disturbances during class. A highlight of the week was the Independence Day celebration on the 15th, which began with the flag hoisting followed by speeches, patriotic songs, cultural programs, and a zumba dance that brought liveliness to the event. At the end of the celebration, sweets (laddoos) were distributed, adding joy to the occasion. Overall, this week gave me confidence in managing classes and made me realize the importance of combining academics with celebrations that instill patriotism and unity among students.  Mid day meal at school Flag hoisting Patriotic song Zumba dance Pyramid dance

My second week at St. Augustine High School, Mararikulam, was both engaging and meaningful. I continued handling English classes in Standard IX, teaching portions of the lesson The Toilet from the unit Winds of Change. The students responded well to my questions, though I had to manage occasional disturbances during class. A highlight of the week was the special assembly on Hiroshima Day, where students presented speeches, poems, and performances to remind us of the tragic consequences of war and the value of peace. The program was touching and gave me a chance to reflect on the importance of compassion, non-violence, and unity. Overall, this week strengthened my confidence as a teacher and deepened my understanding of how school activities and lessons together shape students’ values and learning.

First week reflection of S.T Augustine HS, Mararikulam ( 28/07/2025 - 01/08/2025)

My first week at St. Augustine High School, Mararikulam, was a valuable experience. We reached on time and received the timetable and guidance from the teachers, who were very supportive. The school provided a lively atmosphere with a special assembly that created a sense of unity among the students. I was allotted English classes in Standard IX and taught the lesson The Toilet from the unit Winds of Change, focusing on the themes of survival, longing for freedom, isolation, and societal restrictions. The students responded positively to my questions, though there were some disturbances which I managed while continuing the class. I also got the opportunity to witness the preparations for the science exhibition, which showed the creativity and enthusiasm of the students. Overall, the week gave me confidence and helped me realize the importance of planning, classroom management, and active student engagement.
